1. Talk About Trending Topics
Do you keep tabs on which topics are trending in your industry? Not just which topics are trending overall, mind you, but do you know the trending topics specifically pertinent to your business? Every industry has its own.
For example, if your business is fashion you have shows you can talk about. For bars, you have sports topics and microbrews to talk about. These are all general suggestions of course. The better you know your demographics, the better you can reach your audience.
Find out what they are talking about (or would be talking about if passed on the info), and POST that. Get them engaged with your brand.
Here's a great example from Quest Nutrition:
2. Target your posts carefully
Here’s a trick you’ve probably not tried to increase the engagement on your Facebook Page.TARGETING!
The key here is to curate a post targeted to a certain demographic only. For example, if you’re running a regional sale, you can target a specific area. No point having your post go worldwide.
One thing I’ve learned is that I get better engagement when I target fewer countries.
Here's how you can do it.
First click on the 'target' icon
Next click 'Narrow Audience' and pick the audience you want to target.
It's THAT simple!
3. Post using the optimal size for your visuals
One silly mistake people often make is posting the same visual for EVERY platform. This is a HUGE error!Every site has its own optimal size for visuals. For example, Twitter works best with a horizontal image at a 2:1 ratio -- while a vertical image at 600 x 1,200 px is better for Pinterest and Google+.
Optimal sizes for Facebook are:
- Links: 1,200 x 628 px (recommended)
- Visuals: 1,200 x 1,200 px
- Videos: 504 x 283 px
4. Post Proven Content
Tired of guessing which type of content will work? Hack your way into getting more engagement by posting proven content that's already gone viral. It's simple and quick when you take advantage of Post Planner’s Viral Photos feature. It will show you exactly what's hot for the day, week or month. Why waste time trying to recreate the wheel... when it's already been invented?
When we started using the Viral Photos feature, we saw a significant increase in engagement on our Page.
The best part is that I can schedule out a WEEK of posts in like 15 min! Talk about a time-saver. It's incredible.
5. Tag people and brands strategically
An easy way to get better exposure for your blog posts is to link them on your Page -- then tag people, brands or Pages you mention in the article. (If they aren't mentioned, though, don't tag them.)
Fans of those Pages will actually see those tags on their timeline -- whether they have liked the Page or not!
